We are pleased to introduce you to 2 of our new fav South African wines that we had the pleasure of sipping at a fabulous wine pairing dinner this past week + a local Ontario wine that really impressed us!
Nederburg The Winemaster’s Sauvignon Blanc – This sassy Sauv was a star at a very special South Africa wine pairing dinner with celebrity chef Mike Ward. A few more of his Dirty Dishes Dinner Party spots remain so check it out here!
Tasting Note: Pale straw colour; citrusy fruit with spicy, herbal notes; light pear and passion fruit flavours, well balanced with a crisp, clean finish

Journey’s End Shiraz
Tasting Note: This hand-crafted premium Shiraz is an excellent example of the quality that is increasingly making South African wines so exciting and desirable. This one is juicy and long with impressive black fruit, cherries and a tantalizing pepper spice note. A ripe and full wine that will go very well with grilled ribs or lamb burgers. (Vintages panel, June 2016)
Find it for $20.95 at the LCBO here!
2011 Kings Court Marquis du Meritage
Tasting Note: The Marquis is a bright, sophisticated character that fills your nose with spicy peppers, plums, and passion. Then drops subtly sweet red cherries, cinnamon and vanilla notes on your palate. He’s a smooth and noble blend that goes well with pork and strong cheeses.
