What We’re Drinking: Wines of the Week
last week was all about Chenin cause it was Chenin Blanc day!
If you didn’t get a chance to ‘Discover Chenin’ with us, we’re going to introduce you to some of our faves below
Let’s teach you how to Chenin!
Ken Forrester Old Vine Reserve Chenin Blanc 2016
Tasting Note: Another revelatory Chenin Blanc from Ken Forrester, this dry old-vines expression offers classic notions of fresh floral blossoms, melon and baked apple with touches of earth, vanilla and toasty oak, all wrapped in a wonderfully robust mouthfeel and smooth, polished texture. Pair with flavourful chicken or seafood dishes. (Vintages panel, June 2016) via LCBO

Vinum Africa Chenin Blanc 2015
Tasting Note: Fruit for this wine is grown on gnarled Chenin Blanc bush vines on the foothills of the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. A portion of the juice is fermented in Burgundian oak barrels, adding a touch of toastiness to the ripe peach, apple and spice aromas and flavours this wine delivers vintage after vintage, and that make it so popular with Vintages customers. Pair with pork chops or butternut squash ravioli via LCBO
