Who doesn’t love a good Rosé? Join the Angels as we meet a kick-ass winemaker from Aus.
McGuigan is a name synonymous with Australian wine making. So, when Winemaker Neil McGuigan touched down in Toronto to tell us about a newly released Rosé in the LCBO, we couldn’t say no.
Steeped in rich, Hunter Valley tradition, wines in the McGuigan portfolio are the product of four generations of McGuigan family winemakers. We welcomed Neil, the Chief Winemaker into HQ one Friday afternoon to have a little tasting party that you can check out on our video page over here!
McGuigan Wines is one of the most awarded wineries in the world and with Winemaker Neil at the helm, it is no wonder that they are excelling as a leader and envelope pusher in the Oz wine world. Neil was crowned International Winemaker of the Year at the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) in London a record four times – a world first achievement, with numerous of his wines winning top awards. Including the IWSC Best Semillon Trophy for the McGuigan Bin 9000 Semillon 2003 and IWSC Best Shiraz Trophy for the McGuigan Handmade Shiraz 2007.
The McGuigan Black Label Rosé was recently released in the LCBO for $10.95. You can find it here!
The iconic rosés of Provence are the inspiration for this Australian version that is made using the traditional blend of sauvignon blanc and grenache. The result is a wine that is full of sweet red berry character that is balanced with crisp acidity (via: LCBO).
Pair this wine with bright summer salads with goats cheese, salmon entrees, ripe watermelon, or raspberry lemon pastries for the perfect flavour combination!
