Southbrook Triomphe Chardonnay 2015

Tasting Note: Such a nice wine at a delicious price point, look for a nose of bright apple, creamy pear and a smidge of peach, smoky/leesy notes and integrated oak spice. Château des Charmes St. David’s Bench Vineyard Gamay Noir Droit 2015

Tasting Note: Gamay Droit is the only vinifera grapevine variety to be born here in Canada – right on St. David’s Bench, in fact! It yields wines with dark cherry fruit, earth and smoky spice notes, and this one is unoaked to preserve its unique character. Michèle Bosc of Château des Charmes suggests pairing it with hearty lasagna or a double-cut Ontario pork chop topped with a mushroom and herb sauce.

Malivoire Gamay

Tasting Note: Not widely seen outside France, Gamay thrives in Ontario and has become somewhat of a specialty. Ripe and refreshing, with juicy red berry fruit and peppery spice. Shines with grilled gourmet sausages, roast beef with mashed potatoes or lamb souvlaki.
