Another week comes and goes, but in your glass is where wine flows.
That was just a little poem for some #MondayMotivation – if you needed it. We know that we definitely did! So check out our Wines of the Week for this week below, and sip on wine clubbers!
Saint Clair Family Estate Chardonnay – Saint Clair Family Estate is known as one of the best New World Sauvignon Blanc producers. We tasted this wine from the Marlborough region at the New Zealand Tiki Tour at the ROM; where we got to chat with Senior Winemaker, Kyle Thompson, who spoke about the unique and sustainable winemaking techniques at the winery. Saint Clair Family Estate also has the distinction of being the first New Zealand wine company to win major international trophies for both Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir in the same year. Learn more about the winery and their winemaking practices here!
TASTING NOTE: Clear pale lemon yellow colour; medium intensity aroma of ripe apple, citrus and melon, with a hint of spicy oak; very dry, with light body and lively acidity; flavours of ripe tree fruit and citrus, with nuances of sweet, spicy oak; medium length finish. via LCBO

TASTING NOTE: Crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is from one of Chile’s foremost producers: Don Maximiano Errázuriz founded Viña Errázuriz in 1870. This 2016 rosé is filled with notes of sour cherry, strawberry and raspberry in a tangy, round and zesty package. A real lip-smacker, it’s perfect for sipping or for lighter fare from the barbecue. Palacios Remondo La Vendimia 2015 – Upon Ange’s return from Australia to #the6ix, she promptly cracked open a bottle of this on the weekend to share with her guests and she was not disappointed! If you’re looking for a super chill & delish Spanish wine, this is it! Read the official tasting note below…
TASTING NOTE:The young and juicy 2015 Vendimia is produced with the grapes from younger vines (some from suppliers, some owned, but all organically farmed), mixing vineyards from the warmer and cooler zones. This is the first vintage that is 100% organically farmed and in this high-yielding year, there was a bit more Tempranillo, so it ended up being a 40/60 blend of Garnacha and Tempranillo fermented in stainless steel and matured in barrel for some four months. The oaking seems very subtle and the foreground is dominated by ripe fruit aromas. 2015 was the warmest vintage on record and produced a very tasty and juicy wine, but it keeps its poise and feels as long or longer, than wide. The Tempranillo is clearly noticeable here; this is the most robust wine at Palacios Remondo right now. This is a superb, young, fruit-driven Rioja that is sold at a very attractive price. Drink Date: 2016-2018. Score – 90. (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, Aug. 30, 2016)– via LCBO
